Soak Up the Sun in Bryant Park

Since it’s dedication as a public space in 1686 and after its official opening as a park in 1847 as Reservoir Square—this 9.6 acre green space has been a welcome respite to Midtown’s hustle and bustle.

Today, the park entices tourists and locals alike to meander through its flower-lined promenades or grab a catnap on the longest stretch of lawn in Manhattan south of Central Park.

Open year-round, you’ll find plenty of options for seating, as well as a café and grills and even exciting events throughout the year such as HBO’s Summer Film Festival and an ice-skating rink in winter!

While kids will love the French-style carousel, foodies will flock to Feast on 40th, a block-long lineup of the city’s best eateries serving up takeout versions of their mainstay menus to nibbling New Yorkers.
