We’re here to help! Below is a list of our frequently asked questions to help you make your stay with us at The Jewel a memorable one.

We allow free cancellations and changes until 6 pm (hotel local time), 24 hours prior to arrival. Any cancellations or modifications made after that time are subject to a charge of one night’s room plus tax. Please note there are no cancellations or changes allowed on reservations booked under the Non-Refundable Rate. Cancellations for corporate apartments made after 12pm local time 14 days prior to arrival will be charged 50% of full stay.

We do have waitlists and will notify you should rooms become available.

We welcome you to bring one dog per room per stay – at no extra charge. Learn more about our CQ Paws Program.

Check in time is 3pm; check out time is Noon. Early check in or late check out can be arranged for a minimal charge if available at the time of check in.

You can check-in as late as 6am the day after you are due to arrive. Your credit card automatically guarantees your room. If you are checking in late and know this, please advise when making the reservation or call the hotel directly the day of arrival.

Guests must be at least 21 years old to check into the room.

We are happy to store your luggage either on arrival in the morning if there are no rooms available to check into, or upon departure. A Guest Service Manager at the Reception Desk can do this for you.

Additionally, luggage storage is offered to guests who are checking out and will be returning for an upcoming weekly ongoing stay. If you are a repeat guest, please contact the front desk for more information.

Yes, we have a Fitness Center with cardio equipment and free weights. Additionally, we will deliver yoga kits to your room at no additional charge. NYC requires proof of vaccination to access the fitness center. See Front Desk for key for entry.

Same-day valet cleaning and complimentary self-serve launderette are available at The Jewel.

Additionally, laundry bag and garment bags are available for repeat guests who will stay at least once per week within the current year. If you are a repeat guest, please contact the front desk for more information.

How do I set up and use a room key in Apple Wallet? 

Before you arrive at The Jewel Hotel, open your The Jewel app to add your room key to Apple Wallet on your iPhone or Apple Watch. Once you complete the check-in process, your room key will be activated and ready for use.  

To use your room key to unlock your room, simply hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the reader to unlock. 

How is a room key in Apple Wallet different from other digital keys? 

Your room key in Apple Wallet is easier to use than many alternatives, and you don’t even need to wake or unlock your device. Even if your iPhone needs a charge, your key will still work for up to five hours with Power Reserve. 

What do I need to use a room key in Apple Wallet? 

Which iPhones and Apple Watches are compatible? 

Where can I use a room key in Apple Wallet? 

In addition to your room, your room key in Apple Wallet can also be used to access the same hotel spaces where you would use a plastic key such as the fitness center and common areas. 

How can I tell if I am able to use a room key in Apple Wallet? 

After booking your reservation, look for the “Add to Apple Wallet” button on your upcoming stay in The Jewel Hotel app. The app will indicate if the hotel supports the use of a room key in Apple Wallet. 

How can I add a room key to my Apple Watch? 

When you add a room key to Apple Wallet on your iPhone, it is automatically added to your paired Apple Watch. Once your room key has been added, simply hold your Apple Watch near the reader to unlock. 

How will I know when my room key is available? 

After booking, you can add your room key to Apple Wallet via The Jewel Hotel app. Your room key will automatically activate once you check in and your room has been assigned. 

How does a room key work? 

After your room key in Apple Wallet has been activated, just hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the reader to unlock. With Express Mode, you don’t even need to wake or unlock your device. It’s that simple. 

With how many iPhones and Apple Watches can I use room key in Apple Wallet? 

You may add a room key to Apple Wallet on one iPhone and one paired Apple Watch. per iCloud account. 

If needed, you may switch your room key to a different iPhone or paired Apple Watch. Once the key is activated on the new device, it will be automatically removed from the previous one.  

Can I use a room key in Apple Wallet and a traditional hotel key card? 

Yes, you can use both. 

Can I use room key in Apple Wallet if I have a reservation for multiple rooms? 

Yes, your room key will be automatically activated for each room that you have reserved. 

What if multiple people are staying in one room? 

Multiple people on different devices can use a room key, provided that each person has The Jewel Hotel app activated on their iPhone. 

What if I have multiple stays at a hotel? 

Each stay will be represented with its own room key in Apple Wallet. When your stay is over, your room key will be deactivated remotely and archived in Apple Wallet. 

Can I still access my room if my iPhone needs to be recharged? 

If your iPhone needs a charge, your key in Apple Wallet will still work. Power Reserve provides up to five hours of access, so you can still get inside. 

What if my iPhone or Apple Watch is lost or stolen? 

Room key in Apple Wallet takes full advantage of the privacy and security features built into iPhone and Apple Watch.  

If you think your iPhone or Apple Watch is lost or stolen, you can use iCloud.com or the Find My app on another Apple device. If you need a new room key, please visit the front desk.
